Cladding in Daisy Hill - what to expect

Daisy Hill is a quiet bushland suburb backing onto conservation reserve, popular with families who want space and trees within easy reach of both Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

1980s-2000s brick and rendered homes on elevated, often sloping bush blocks. Elevated timber decks, carports, internal reconfiguration and hardwood or hybrid flooring replacement are the most common jobs.

Bushfire overlay and sloping, treed sites influence material choices and deck construction here - elevated structures need engineered footings, and screening or ember-resistant detailing is worth planning for at design stage rather than as a variation.

Every Daisy Hill project is quoted at a fixed price after a site inspection, delivered by one licensed team, and finished with the documentation and warranties you should expect from a QBCC licensed contractor.

Our cladding service in Daisy Hill

Cladding installation

New external cladding for renovations, extensions, alterations and existing homes. We set out the wall system first - wrap, vertical battens, drainage cavity, vermin mesh - then install the boards or panels you have chosen, whether that is fibre cement weatherboard, vertical panel cladding, timber or composite. Getting the setout right is what makes the finished elevation read as straight, even lines rather than a patchwork.

Cladding replacement and re-clads

Removing old, damaged, deteriorated or simply dated external cladding and replacing it with a modern system. This is the single fastest way to change how a house looks from the street, and it is also the point where you get to fix what is behind the wall - insulation, wrap, flashings and any timber that needs attention. We handle removal, disposal, the new install and the trims and flashings that finish it properly.

Fibre cement and James Hardie cladding

Fibre cement is the most common choice on new work here because it handles UV, salt air and driving rain with very little maintenance. We install the widely used James Hardie range - HardiePlank and Linea weatherboards for a classic profile, Axon and Stria for vertical and horizontal panel looks, Matrix for a contemporary expressed-joint facade, and EasyLap where a flat rendered-look sheet is wanted. Other manufacturers are available too, and we will tell you honestly which product suits the wall.

Timber cladding and weatherboards

Timber cladding still looks better than anything imitating it. Shiplap, weatherboard, board and batten and vertical shadowline in spotted gum, blackbutt or cedar, plus timber weatherboard replacement on older homes where matching the existing profile matters. Timber needs recoating every 18-24 months on exposed elevations, so we walk through the maintenance honestly before you commit, and offer composite as the low-upkeep alternative.

Cladding repairs

Repairs to cracked, split, water-damaged or storm-damaged boards, failed joints and flashings, and the carpentry behind them. Where only part of an elevation has failed we can often repair and blend rather than re-clad the whole wall, which keeps the cost down. Where the problem is the original installation - no cavity, no flashings - we will tell you that too.

Timber behind existing cladding

Most re-clads come apart cleanly. Occasionally, once the old cladding is off, some deterioration turns up in framing, battens or trims that nobody could see beforehand. If that happens we stop, photograph and show you exactly what is exposed, and price any rectification before continuing. It is not something to worry about in advance, just something worth knowing can happen so there are no surprises mid-job.

Cladding and the rest of the job in Daisy Hill

Cladding is often the finishing move on a bigger Daisy Hill project - an extension, a build-under, a garage conversion or a deck that needs the adjoining wall to match. Because our carpenters handle framing, decking and finishing work as well, cladding lines, deck levels and window trims are set out together instead of three trades each doing their own version.

What cladding replacement involves in Daisy Hill

A typical Daisy Hill re-clad runs as removal and disposal of the existing cladding, inspection of what is underneath, new wrap and battens, then the new cladding, trims, flashings and paint or coating. Scaffold goes up for anything above single storey. We keep the house weathertight through the process rather than opening more wall than we can close in a day.

What cladding cost in Daisy Hill (2026)

Installed cladding typically runs $180-$400 per square metre. Fibre cement systems such as HardiePlank, Linea, Axon and Stria sit at the lower to middle of that range, composite in the middle, and hardwood timber cladding toward the upper end. Removal and disposal of existing cladding is quoted separately. Prices vary with access, existing condition and the level of finish you choose. Bushfire overlay and sloping, treed sites influence material choices and deck construction here - elevated structures need engineered footings, and screening or ember-resistant detailing is worth planning for at design stage rather than as a variation.

How long cladding take

A feature entry or single elevation is generally 3-5 days. A full house re-clad usually runs 2-3 weeks including scaffold, removal of the old cladding and flashing works.
