Complete driveways, done properly
A driveway is one of the largest single pieces of concrete on a residential property and the first thing people see when they arrive. Most of the work that decides whether it lasts happens before the concrete turns up: excavation depth, a compacted base, correct falls away from the house, reinforcement, and joints placed where the slab wants to move.
We take on the whole job rather than the pour alone. That includes removing the old driveway where there is one, preparing and compacting the base, setting formwork and levels, placing reinforcement, pouring and finishing, cutting control joints and cleaning up the site.
Because we are a building company rather than a concreting-only crew, concrete that ties into a renovation, a deck or pergola or a garage conversion can be coordinated as part of the one project.

We focus on complete driveways and substantial residential concrete, so the following jobs are usually better handled by a smaller concreting outfit:
- Small standalone pads such as bin or air conditioner pads
- Minor crack patching and small repair work
- Short isolated pathways on their own
- Small standalone shed pads

The finish changes both the look of the driveway and what it costs. These are the three we install most.
Coloured Concrete
A coloured option for homeowners who want the driveway or concrete area to complement the home, roof, fencing and surrounding finishes rather than contrast with them.
Exposed Aggregate
A decorative finish that reveals the stone within the concrete, suited to driveways, outdoor areas, pool surrounds and other prominent exterior concrete surfaces.
What a concrete project may involve
Every driveway and slab is different. The steps below are what a project may involve, and we confirm the specification for your site at the quote stage.

Site inspection and measurement
We measure the area, check access for trucks and equipment, look at levels, falls and drainage, and confirm what is already there.

Removal and excavation
Breaking out and removing an existing driveway where required, then excavating to the depth the job needs and removing unsuitable material from site.

Subgrade and base preparation
Trimming and preparing the subgrade, then placing and compacting base material where the site calls for it, so the concrete is supported evenly.

Formwork and set-out
Setting out the shape and edges, forming up the area and setting the levels and falls so water sheds away from the house and garage.

Reinforcement
Placing reinforcement to suit the project and any engineering requirements that apply, supported at the correct height rather than laid on the ground.

Concrete supply and placement
Ordering the specified mix and placing it by chute or pump depending on access, with the crew sized for the pour so the concrete is worked while it should be.

Screeding and finishing
Screeding the surface level, floating it up, then applying the chosen finish, whether that is a broom finish, a coloured finish or exposed aggregate.

Joints and saw cutting
Forming or saw cutting control joints in a planned layout, and installing isolation or expansion joints where the concrete meets a fixed structure.

Clean-up and handover
Cleaning down the site, removing formwork and waste, and giving you clear guidance on curing and when the driveway can be used.
Thickness, concrete strength, reinforcement and joint layout vary from project to project. They depend on the site, the ground conditions, the loads the concrete will carry and any engineering requirements that apply, so we confirm the specification for your job rather than applying one universal answer.
