Most renovation builders on the Gold Coast price by the job, not by the hour. A fixed price quote covers labour, materials, trades and supervision for an agreed scope. As a rough guide from market research, bathrooms often land around $20,000 to $60,000 and kitchens around $25,000 to $80,000, depending on size and finishes.
Fixed price vs cost plus
A fixed price quote gives you a set number for a defined scope, with variations only if the scope changes. Cost plus charges actual costs plus a margin, which can suit unclear jobs but leaves the final figure open. Orange Projects gives fixed written quotes after a site visit.
What drives the cost
- Moving plumbing or electrical.
- Structural changes and wall removal.
- Finish level: tiles, benchtops, tapware and joinery.
- Hidden issues like water damage or old wiring.
- Access, especially in high rise apartments.
