The work that comes up in Labrador

Labrador has one of the largest concentrations of older housing and walk-up unit blocks on the northern Gold Coast, alongside newer infill development near the Broadwater. It generates a high volume of repair and maintenance work rather than large renovation projects.

  • Reactive rental repairs booked through property managers, often several in a single street.
  • Older unit block repairs including screens, hardware, balcony fittings and shared entries.
  • Vacate and re-let repairs on tight timeframes.
  • General handyman lists for landlords with several properties in the area.

Travel and your patch

Days run between Southport, Biggera Waters, Runaway Bay and Arundel. If you live nearby, you can complete a lot of jobs without much time on the road.

Common questions

Do you have maintenance work in Labrador right now?

We do not advertise vacancies we do not have. Orange Projects keeps an ongoing register of maintenance workers by area, and Labrador is a suburb we work in regularly. Registering puts you on the list we call from when work is confirmed.

Do I have to live in Labrador?

No. We dispatch by area rather than by address, so what matters is the patch you are happy to cover. Tell us your suburbs when you register and we will keep you close to home where we can.

Employment or subcontract?

Both are available. Employees and casuals work to hours and a run sheet we set. Subcontractors need an ABN and current public liability insurance, and work to an agreed scope or rate.

What do I need before I can start?

A white card, reliable transport and your own tools as a minimum, plus any licence required for the work you carry out in your own right. Subcontractors also need an ABN and insurance certificates on file.
