Carpentry Subcontractor Work on the Gold Coast
Orange Projects is continually looking to connect with carpentry subcontractors across the Gold Coast. If you run your own ABN and want ongoing subcontract carpenter work from a licensed builder rather than chasing your own leads, this is the page to register on.
We are deliberately building a smaller network of subcontractors we use repeatedly, rather than a long list of names we call once. That means fewer people, more consistent work, and a relationship worth maintaining on both sides.
Orange Projects is a QBCC licensed renovation, carpentry and property maintenance company based on the Gold Coast. Licence No. 15620733.
How we engage carpentry subcontractors
- Scope is issued in writing before the work starts, with an agreed price or agreed rate.
- Variations are approved in writing before they are carried out.
- You invoice us against the agreed scope. We do not ask subcontractors to chase the customer.
- Payment terms are agreed up front and we stick to them.
What we need on file before you start
- A valid ABN.
- Public liability insurance, with a current certificate of currency.
- Any QBCC licence required for the work you are performing in your own right.
- Personal accident or income protection cover if you are a sole trader, and workers compensation if you employ.
- White card and any other relevant tickets.
- Your own tools, plant and reliable transport.
The type of subcontract carpentry we put out
- Renovation carpentry packages: internal alterations, framing changes, door sets and trims.
- Deck, pergola and outdoor structure builds, including composite systems.
- Flooring installation packages over larger areas.
- Feature carpentry, panelling and built-in joinery installation.
- Commercial fit-out and make-good packages, often after hours.
Why subcontractors stay on our list
Consistency. We would rather give steady work to five carpenters who know how we operate than spread it across twenty. If the first job goes well, the second one usually follows quickly.

Common questions
Do you pay by the hour or by the job?
Both, depending on the work. Renovation and deck packages are usually priced as a scope. Repair and variable work is often better on an agreed hourly or day rate. We agree it before you start.
Do I need public liability insurance?
Yes. We need a current certificate of currency on file before you carry out subcontract work for us.
Do I need a QBCC licence as a subcontractor?
It depends on the work. Some subcontract carpentry requires a licence in its own right and some is carried out under our licence. Tell us what you hold and we will match you to the right work.
Is the work ongoing or one off?
We aim for ongoing. Our intention with the trade network is repeat work with the same people, not a single job.
