Retaining walls are a big part of the outdoor work we quote in Reedy Creek, whether that is a new wall, a replacement or a repair.
Reedy Creek is a green, elevated residential pocket behind Burleigh with a strong family demographic and homes that are now well into renovation age.
Late-1990s and 2000s two-storey brick homes on sloping estate blocks, plus larger acreage-style properties toward the western edge. Kitchen updates, ensuite renovations, decks and internal reconfigurations are typical.
We quote every wall after walking the site, so the price reflects your actual slope, soil and access rather than a rate per metre over the phone.

Sloping blocks are where retaining walls earn their keep: terracing a backyard into usable levels, holding back a cut beside the house or creating a flat area for a lawn or play space. Water from further up the hill needs somewhere to go, so drainage behind and above the wall is planned first. Tiered walls can sometimes suit better than one tall wall, and design, height and load all affect what engineering or approval is needed.
A new wall often needs steps through it or a garden bed along it. Designing those with the wall gives a cleaner result than adding them later.

Concrete sleepers between galvanised steel posts are the most common wall we build. They will not rot, they suit most residential heights, and woodgrain or stone-look faces make them easy to match to the house. Post spacing and footing depth are set to the height and whatever sits above the wall.
Treated pine and hardwood sleepers remain the most economical option for low garden walls. We use timber rated for ground contact, detail it to shed water, and are honest about its shorter lifespan compared with concrete.
Segmental block walls suit curved lines and tiered gardens. They need a compacted base and drainage aggregate, and depending on the system and height, reinforcement back into the soil, so we plan the excavation footprint and access around that.
Itemised written pricing after a site inspection, covering excavation, materials, drainage and spoil removal.
We assess height, load and position on site and tell you what your wall is likely to need, without blanket promises.
Walls, steps, paving, fencing, decks and landscaping sequenced together instead of across several contractors.

We look at the slope, soil, existing wall condition, access for machinery, boundaries and what sits above and below the wall.
Timber, concrete sleeper or block, wall height and line, drainage and any steps or garden beds that go with it.
An itemised written quote, including engineering and certification where the wall requires it.
