Ekodeck and Ezy Decking are the two composite brands we build with most on the Gold Coast. Both are capped composite boards made for Australian conditions, so the choice usually comes down to colour, board profile and budget rather than one being better than the other.

What they have in common

• Capped boards that resist staining and fading better than older uncapped composite.
• No oiling. A wash a couple of times a year keeps them looking right.
• Hidden clip fixing options, so there are no screw heads on the surface.
• Both get warmer than timber in full afternoon sun, so lighter colours are worth a look for exposed decks and pool surrounds.

Where they differ

The colour range and board finishes are the main difference. Ekodeck has a wide spread of timber-look colours, and Ezy Decking has its own set of tones and profiles. Ranges change from year to year, so we bring current samples when we measure up. Lay the samples on the actual deck spot at the time of day you'll use it most. Colours look very different in Gold Coast sun compared with a showroom.

Coastal and pool decks
