Cladding replacement and re-clads
Removing old, damaged, deteriorated or simply dated external cladding and replacing it with a modern system. Fibre cement and James Hardie cladding

Timber cladding still looks better than anything imitating it. Shiplap, weatherboard, board and batten and vertical shadowline in spotted gum, blackbutt or cedar, plus timber weatherboard replacement on older homes where matching the existing profile matters. Timber needs recoating every 18-24 months on exposed elevations, so we walk through the maintenance honestly before you commit, and offer composite as the low-upkeep alternative.
Cladding repairs
Repairs to cracked, split, water-damaged or storm-damaged boards, failed joints and flashings, and the carpentry behind them. Where only part of an elevation has failed we can often repair and blend rather than re-clad the whole wall, which keeps the cost down. Where the problem is the original installation - no cavity, no flashings - we will tell you that too.
Timber behind existing cladding
Most re-clads come apart cleanly. Occasionally, once the old cladding is off, some deterioration turns up in framing, battens or trims that nobody could see beforehand. If that happens we stop, photograph and show you exactly what is exposed, and price any rectification before continuing. It is not something to worry about in advance, just something worth knowing can happen so there are no surprises mid-job.

Head flashings over windows, correct sill and apron details, sealed penetrations for taps and lights, adequate ground clearance so boards are not wicking moisture, stainless or hot-dipped galvanised fixings near the coast, and cut edges sealed before fixing. None of it is visible on a finished job and none of it can be fixed later without opening the wall back up.
