We handle removal and disposal, footings, posts, bearers, joists, stairs, fascia and balustrades, so one team is responsible for the whole deck.
Hardwoods such as Merbau, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, or composite boards from Ekodeck and Ezy Decking. Supply and install, or install only if you are supplying the boards.
On replacement jobs we check the existing structure before quoting. Framing is only reused when its condition and size suit the new deck.
You get an itemised, fixed price in writing after we measure, with stairs, balustrades and any engineering listed separately.

Why it matters for decks
A deck attached to the house can bridge over the termite barrier around your home if it is not built carefully. Termites can then travel up hidden parts of the frame and into the house. A good deck keeps the barrier intact and leaves areas open so activity can be spotted.
Choosing frame materials
- H3 treated pine is treated against termites and decay above ground. Cut ends are re-sealed with a preservative.
- In-ground posts need H4 or H5 treatment, or better, steel posts in stirrups on concrete.
- Durable hardwoods resist termites better than untreated softwood but are not immune.
- Steel subframes take termites out of the structure entirely and are an option for decks low to the ground.
Keeping it inspectable
Termite inspectors need to see the base of walls and the frame. We leave a gap between the deck and the house wall where the barrier requires it, and keep enough clearance under the deck for inspection where height allows. Low decks near the ground are the hardest to inspect, so frame choice matters more there.
Soil, mulch and moisture
Termites like moist timber. Keeping garden beds, mulch and stored timber away from the deck frame and making sure water drains away from it reduces risk.
Your termite management system
If your home has chemical soil treatment, a physical barrier or a monitoring system, a new deck may affect it. We recommend talking to your pest controller before the build, and again afterwards if anything changes.
Prices and options
As a general guide, timber decking runs roughly $350 to $550 per m² and composite $450 to $700 per m² supplied and installed, depending on height, access, framing and finishes.
