Orange Projects holds QBCC Licence No. 15620733 and is fully insured for residential and commercial decking work.
We handle removal and disposal, footings, posts, bearers, joists, stairs, fascia and balustrades, so one team is responsible for the whole deck.
Hardwoods such as Merbau, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, or composite boards from Ekodeck and Ezy Decking. Supply and install, or install only if you are supplying the boards.
On replacement jobs we check the existing structure before quoting. Framing is only reused when its condition and size suit the new deck.
You get an itemised, fixed price in writing after we measure, with stairs, balustrades and any engineering listed separately.

Check the estate rules
Many newer estates have design covenants that cover outdoor structures, colours and materials, particularly where they can be seen from the street. Some need developer approval for a while after handover. It is worth checking these before getting quotes.

If your home is still under the builder's warranty, ask how attaching a deck may affect it. A freestanding deck that sits next to the slab, rather than being fixed into it, usually avoids that question altogether.
Matching the alfresco slab
New homes often have a concrete alfresco at floor level. A deck beside it should sit at the same height, or a clear step below. We can extend from the slab edge with a low frame, or build a deck over the alfresco itself on a low-profile system if you want one continuous surface.
Small yards
Yards on newer blocks can be compact. A deck that is too big takes all the grass. Many people find a deck of 3 to 4 m out from the house gives enough room for a table and a lounge, while leaving yard for kids and pets.
Termites and the slab edge
The slab edge on new homes is often part of the termite barrier and must stay visible. We keep the deck clear of it and leave an inspection gap.
Board choice
Composite from Ekodeck or Ezy Decking suits a new home well: modern colours, little upkeep. $450 to $700 per m² supplied and installed. As a general guide, timber decking runs roughly $350 to $550 per m² and composite $450 to $700 per m² supplied and installed, depending on height, access, framing and finishes.
