We handle removal and disposal, footings, posts, bearers, joists, stairs, fascia and balustrades, so one team is responsible for the whole deck.
Hardwoods such as Merbau, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, or composite boards from Ekodeck and Ezy Decking. Supply and install, or install only if you are supplying the boards.
On replacement jobs we check the existing structure before quoting. Framing is only reused when its condition and size suit the new deck.
You get an itemised, fixed price in writing after we measure, with stairs, balustrades and any engineering listed separately.

Bigger decks, bigger exposure

Many rural properties sit in mapped bushfire-prone areas. If yours does, the house has a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL), and a deck attached to it may need to meet that level. Blackbutt and spotted gum are classed as bushfire-resisting timbers and suit many BAL ratings. Some composite boards are tested for certain ratings. At higher levels, non-combustible options and enclosed or clear under-deck areas may be needed. We check your BAL before recommending materials.
Access and delivery
Long driveways, gates, soft ground and limited turning room for delivery trucks all affect the job. We plan deliveries so materials can be dropped close to the work, and if machines are needed for digging footings, we check access first.
Footings on rural ground
Ground on rural blocks varies a lot, and footings need to reach firm material. We do not assume. Holes are dug and checked, and if we hit rock or soft ground, we talk to you before changing anything.
Wildlife and insects
Decks close to bush can attract wildlife underneath. Screening the sides with battens can keep animals out while allowing airflow. Termites are a consideration on any site, so we keep timber off the ground and leave inspection access.
Board choice
Hardwood suits rural homes well and handles exposure. Composite from Ekodeck or Ezy Decking saves maintenance on very large decks. More on timber decking.
Supply, install and cost
As a general guide, timber decking runs roughly $350 to $550 per m² and composite $450 to $700 per m² supplied and installed, depending on height, access, framing and finishes. Large decks can come in lower per square metre. BAL materials, access and engineering may add cost. We also offer install only.
