Orange Projects holds QBCC Licence No. 15620733 and is fully insured for residential and commercial decking work.
We handle removal and disposal, footings, posts, bearers, joists, stairs, fascia and balustrades, so one team is responsible for the whole deck.
Hardwoods such as Merbau, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, or composite boards from Ekodeck and Ezy Decking. Supply and install, or install only if you are supplying the boards.
On replacement jobs we check the existing structure before quoting. Framing is only reused when its condition and size suit the new deck.
You get an itemised, fixed price in writing after we measure, with stairs, balustrades and any engineering listed separately.

If you've decided on composite, the next question is which product. We focus on Ekodeck and Ezy Decking because we know how they install and perform. Both are good choices. The differences are in looks, board profiles, fixing systems and price within each range.
How they are made
Composite boards are a mix of wood fibre and plastic. Many modern boards also have a protective cap on the surface that resists stains and fading. Check whether the specific board you're looking at is capped, as this has the biggest effect on how it ages.
Looks and colours
Both brands offer a range of greys and browns, with wood-grain textures. Colours look different in Queensland sun than in a showroom, so seeing a sample on your own deck area is worthwhile. Some colours have more variation between boards, which looks more like timber.
Fixing systems
Each brand has its own hidden clip system and recommended joist spacing. We follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly, because warranties depend on it. Joist spacing for composite is often closer than for hardwood, which can add to frame cost.
Heat
Any composite board gets warm in direct sun, and dark colours more so. If your deck faces north or west without shade, a lighter colour is worth considering in either brand.
Warranty
Both brands offer product warranties, with conditions on installation and maintenance. We can give you the current warranty documents for the board you choose.
Price
Supplied and installed, composite decking runs $450 to $700 per m², depending on the board, the frame and the design. The brand you choose is usually less important to cost than the frame height and detail. We also install boards you supply.
