Orange Projects holds QBCC Licence No. 15620733 and is fully insured for residential and commercial decking work.
We handle removal and disposal, footings, posts, bearers, joists, stairs, fascia and balustrades, so one team is responsible for the whole deck.
Hardwoods such as Merbau, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, or composite boards from Ekodeck and Ezy Decking. Supply and install, or install only if you are supplying the boards.
On replacement jobs we check the existing structure before quoting. Framing is only reused when its condition and size suit the new deck.
You get an itemised, fixed price in writing after we measure, with stairs, balustrades and any engineering listed separately.

Removal of any old deck, then footings, framing, boards, stairs, fascia and balustrades, built to the agreed scope.

A final walk-through, clean-up and care advice for the boards you chose.
Residential and commercial decking around Labrador
Alongside home decks, we take on decking for managed and commercial properties: outdoor customer areas for cafes and retail, office break-out decks, body corporate common areas, and replacement decks on investment properties for landlords and property managers. Commercial work can be timber or composite, and is scoped and quoted the same way: measure, assess what is there, then a fixed written price.
Upgrades that make the biggest difference
- New boards over a sound frame, in hardwood or composite.
- Replacing worn or unsafe stairs.
- A new balustrade, often glass or aluminium, in place of a dated timber one.
- Fascia boards to tidy up the edge and hide the frame.
- Re-fixing loose and lifting boards with new screws.
Is the frame worth keeping?
We check every frame before quoting an upgrade. Soft joists, rusted brackets or sunken footings change the job. If the frame is sound, keeping it saves money. If it is not, we will say so.
Re-boarding in composite
Changing from timber to composite during an upgrade is common. Joist spacing must suit the composite board, so extra joists may be needed. Joist tape on top helps the old frame last. We mainly install Ekodeck and Ezy Decking.
New balustrades
An old timber balustrade can make a deck look dated and may not meet current rules. Glass opens the view. Aluminium is low maintenance. The posts need to be fixed into the frame properly, which may mean adding blocking.
Loose boards
Boards nailed down years ago tend to lift. Replacing nails with screws stops this. Stainless near the coast.
Supply, install and cost
Upgrades are quoted per job. As a general guide, timber decking runs roughly $350 to $550 per m² and composite $450 to $700 per m² supplied and installed, depending on height, access, framing and finishes. Install only is available. See deck repairs.
