Orange Projects holds QBCC Licence No. 15620733 and is fully insured for residential and commercial decking work.
We handle removal and disposal, footings, posts, bearers, joists, stairs, fascia and balustrades, so one team is responsible for the whole deck.
Hardwoods such as Merbau, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, or composite boards from Ekodeck and Ezy Decking. Supply and install, or install only if you are supplying the boards.
On replacement jobs we check the existing structure before quoting. Framing is only reused when its condition and size suit the new deck.
You get an itemised, fixed price in writing after we measure, with stairs, balustrades and any engineering listed separately.

Residential and commercial decking around Miami
Alongside home decks, we take on decking for managed and commercial properties: outdoor customer areas for cafes and retail, office break-out decks, body corporate common areas, and replacement decks on investment properties for landlords and property managers. Commercial work can be timber or composite, and is scoped and quoted the same way: measure, assess what is there, then a fixed written price.
Salt air is hard on metal. A deck can have perfectly good boards sitting on a frame held together by brackets that are rusting from the inside. Near the beach, the fixing schedule deserves as much thought as the timber.
Screws
For decks close to the water, 316 grade stainless steel screws are the safe choice. 304 grade is fine further inland but can tea stain and pit in salty air. Coated carbon screws are cheaper and work in many places, but we avoid them on exposed coastal decks.
Brackets, bolts and post stirrups
- Hot dip galvanised hardware lasts much longer than zinc plated.
- Mixing stainless screws with galvanised brackets is normal, but keep similar metals together where you can.
- Post stirrups should lift the post off the concrete so it can dry.
- Check bolts at the ledger, where the deck meets the house, as these carry the most load.
Hidden fixing systems
Clip systems hold boards from the side, so there are no screw heads on top. They look clean and suit composite boards from Ekodeck and Ezy Decking, which are designed around them. With hardwood, face screwing is often more practical, especially on wide or very dense boards.
What to check on an existing deck
Rust stains running down posts, flaking brackets or screw heads that have snapped off are all signs. If the boards are fine, sometimes the hardware can be replaced without rebuilding. If the frame is rusting at the bolts, a deck replacement may be the better money.
Prices
As a general guide, timber decking runs roughly $350 to $550 per m² and composite $450 to $700 per m² supplied and installed, depending on height, access, framing and finishes. Coastal hardware is included in our quotes where it is needed, so you are not surprised later. Install only is also available. See composite decking and pool decking.
